Need to go from 3/4 wood to linoleum ussually try to transition directly under door then when installing door set on top of new flooring but with large thickness variations this wont work unless i try to cope bottom of door to match flooring profile

Can you terminate the new flooring at the edge of the jamb so you have something flat for the jambs to sit on? Then span the transition with a saddle or threshold of some sort.
