Hello everyone and merry christmas to all. I have a question in regards to framing walls with 3×6 sill plate. I have to change my 2×6 sill plate for 3×6 in order to gain an inch in wall height for light weight concrete and ro for doors. Has anyone ran into trouble getting to pass inspection? I’m aware that I may have to use sds screws or 20d sinkers in my shear wall sections. Thanks for sharing some of your past experiences.

I used 3x6 PT for mudsills under my house. There's no reason I know of that yours wouldn't pass an inspection.
Thanks for the advise. I just thought I'd ask since I'm framing in Malibu CA and I'm not familiar with the locals down there. Did you use 3x on top of subfloor or concrete?
3x on top of stemwall. We have to nail our wall sheathing to the mudsill 8d common @ 6" O.C. and the PT we get is funky Hem-Fir. The 3x definitely takes the nailing a bit better.
If it is for a first floor of a 2 story, you may need to use 3x4 or 3x6 on your exterior framing. Have you run you plan by the locl inspectors yet?
