thats what my factory rep told me…. 1.5″ was as big as they had 2 years ago… but now they have up to 4″ as i understand it you have to use mechanical fasteners on anything above 2″ but the expansion tool works for up to 2″… my guy just used the hyd over electric suitcase tool that expands the big stuff… whole deal in a suitcase… gun with the hoses from the powerpac… cool set up…
thought that was kinda cool…

Does that mean we can put in PEX sewage lines now?
I'm kind of cringing imagining how much a 4" Sharkbite might cost!

Look, just send me to my drawer. This whole talking-to-you thing is like double punishment.
i don't know if it can be used for for DWV or just for potable water... I know I have run 3 & 4" water lines and any threaded fitting that size is not cheap...
the cool part about the pex is getting it how long you need in the 1" to 2" size great for boring and pulling in a replacement water supply line when the meter is 150ft from the house... makes a one day job out of what would be 2-3 days digging a trench without all the mess...

Are they targeting the market for HDPE? Or is it DWV plumbing? I wouldn't think a coil of 4"PEX would be very handy for interior work.
Just finished fighting with 1"AquaPEX today and was thinking about the 2" stuff they are adertising and how much fun that would be to wrestle with and how many expansions I would have to make for each fitting.
Would be great for tough water conditions I suppose.
the biggest I've used is 1.5" and you have to have the powered tool to expand it....
BUT... i did have to make one joint and didn't have the borrowed tool... so in a pinch if you have a set of exhaust tube expanders and and electric impact... and a bit of lube... it works just as well... just more parts to hold on to... but the action is the same...
I don't think the 4" is for DWV but i don't know
