I’m not familiar with cutting counter tops at a 45 deg. angle, or any angle for that matter. Popping in a K.sink hole, I got that. However, I took a kitchen job adding cabinets and counter tops. I thought it would be a breeze, have the lumber yard cut them!! Did not figure HO had already purchased and stored the CT’s. Is there any advice you could lend for a true 45 cut??

Is it preformed with an integral backsplash? That makes it toiugher. If it's a flat top, flip it over and cut from the back with a clamped straightedge.
If there is a formica top frabricator in town, see if they will cut to your line for a fee. The shop here has a fantastic saw that cuts deep enough to do the top and splash cleanly in one pass.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
I should have mentioned the 3.5" in. backsplash. After reading your post, and ponytl's, I think I'll call the mill and see if they'll cut it on Monday. If it was mine, I'd try it just to say I did one, but I don't want to screw this up for the HO's.
Thanks for the input.

I'm guess'n it's the one with the attached preformed backsplash...
1st I'd inform the customer that you'll try to cut it but it's at their risk as most of these are cut to order ect... leave yourself an out because after take'n my time, block'n, score'n, and have'n access to about every tool known to man I've still screwed up more of these than I've cut right the first time...
most have a drip lip on the front... you'll need to block the back with a 1x so your saw rides flat on the 1x (you will cut from the back ie upside down) last few i did i found a defect or a slight void where it turns up for the backsplash (they were from the same batch so might be a one time deal but it sure screwed me up) anyway i cut em with a 10" skill saw 1/16" long finshed up the back splash with a handsaw (i's scored the plastic so it wouldn't chip too bad.. I then put the matching corners together leave'n em 1/8" apart with em all set up and held in place (again upside down) with a straight edge and a router with a 1/4 " straight bit i routed down the center for a mirror image ... alot of time trouble ect... but i was at the lake house and it was a weekend project i hadn't premeasured for so i had alot of material & time... I wouldn't do it again....
