I was working on a 1950’s ranch house recently that had 4×9 3/8 fir plywood on carport walls. I am in need of a lightweight ceiling material to suspend from the bottom chords of w-trusses in my shop (10′ o.c.) I thought 4×8 was all that was made in plywood. Has anyone seen 4×10 plywood before?

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

Get ahold of a decent plywood distributor and you'll be surprised at what you can get. 4x10... definitely.
Here's a place I used to go:

Here is another source Roberts Plywood on Long Island, NY. http://www.getwood.com/
I dont think you can just order a few sheets, and 10' would sag down anyway. Maybe you could fur it with some flat 2x, then put up something readily available. I would probably use drywall myself, but you could use big ceiling tiles.
i just got done with a job where we sheathed with 4'by 9' 1" OSB.

How heavy were those sheets?!
Our next job is 9' walls (and 10 and 11 and 14 :-)) and we'll use a lot of 4x10 OSB, but that is 7/16" I can't imagine 1"!!
i didn't mean that it was 1" thick, i meant that it was 9'1" in length.yeah 1" thick would be a nightmare for sheathing.sorry bout the confusion.

I was thinking you are Hercules :-)
If you turned off the cut-off saw at the OSB plant, you could make a 4x1mile sheet!!
just need a heck of a delivery truck is all!

Brushwacker, 4' x10' x 3/8" exterior plywood is a normal stock item here in Michigan in builder yards. It comes in smooth fir and rough sawn fir. We can get 10' stock for all sidings too such as T-111 and OSB products.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
Warning! Be cautious when taking any framing advice from me. There are some in here who think I'm a hackmeister...they might be right! Of course, they might be wrong too!
