I have a Stanley Bostich flooring stapler, and I have a customer who wants to put down about 800 sq. ft. of bamboo flooring. Because the flooring will be 5/8″ thick, I was wondering if anyone knew if I need to make any modifications to my nailer. Thanks for any advise or experience.

You are going to have to play with your stapelers shim package to get the proper set with out damageing the the mating edge of the floor.
I don't think you can use the Bostich. I have a Powernailer 445 which has different base plates for different thickness flooring. Check with the Manufacturer. I know most want the 1-1/2" "L" nails used only, not any kind of staple.
You most certainly can use the Bostich flooring nailer-the old style usual air assist big one.
I have not had to play with the foot, but if you do (experiment on depth) a laminate sample, sometimes paperboard backer to a notepad pc or two added will work.
The key is the air pressure. Start out at maybe 75lbs, check penetration and move up if necessary. I use a splitter on the compressor with it's own gauge. One for the nailer, one for the finish gun.
Best of luck.

Cal is right. He gave me advice before we ran a 5/8" bamboo floor this spring. Change out the shim on the bottom to the one for 1/2" flooring and cut the air pressure. Worked perfectly.
