lennox premium series.....rarely if ever have a problem and they are very energy efficient.
The people I know in the industry say Trane and York are the two best. American Standard is the parent company of Trane and the AS and Trane condensers are the same other than the sheet metal looks but the AS is cheaper. I see one person recommended Lennox. Lennox compressor's spin the opposite of the other brands and have some other proprietary parts and getting them from the supply houses is difficult at times or might be delayed.
I just bought mine last fall and went with York.
In most cases it is well worth it to replace both ends of the system and often the line set.
More important than the brand is someone that will do the install correctly.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Not s big fsn of Rheem (and Ruud) THe condensing coils are two layered and trap airborne junk and clog easier more are difficult to flush out.
In a previous life I was a PM for a national mechanical company specializing in multifamily units. We used to call the Goodman product Jani-junk (janitrol).
That said we sold and installed a lot of Carrier, Trane, York and yes even Janitrol. Pretty much driven by price. When you are ordering 350 units and willing to take delivery all at once they give you an extremely competitive price.
Lennox just was not competitive for us. They seem to market to the replacement single family business. Headquarters is 2 miles down the road from me too.
When the system on my house died I replaced it with a Trane system.
Today, I would look at Trane and Carrier.
