This is the sculpture in front of the local high school. What’s it made of?

I dunno
minnesota, home to the iron range, probably steel? Perhaps salvage.
saw a bison sculpture in S. Dakota last fall that was made of anything you could weld.
sprockets, pipe, fenders, springs, nuts and bolts, gears, whole bicycles, tire rims, farm implements, even rotary mower blades.
it was a beautiful thing.
A little closer --
-- Oops, too close!
Let's try this --
And closer still --
What's the bear made out of?
Why, just look at that nice expanse of perfectly mown grass in front of the school!

Nothing like a suggestive answer.
hey, as an aside......we might be traveling in September in your direction. You going to be home?
mebbe...mebbe not...
I have my schedule a couple weeks in advance, so Sept schedule in mid-Aug.
It can change, but we should be able to work something out.
Lemme know. Might even have the pizza oven up and running by then...
Will do

joyce is the route planner and this fall she seems to think camping the northeast might be nice. Conn. pizza would be a site to see.
pizza pizza
The "official" CT pizza is either Frank Pepe's or Sally's, located within a stone's throw of one another on Wooster Street in New Haven. Both have coal-fired ovens, so based on your delicate eco-tendencies, you may want to walk there to offset the carbon footprint created by your dining choice.
Camping near here? if you like beach camping, check out Hammonasett State Park in Madison, about 20 minutes west of me. Roughly 500 camping sites. About twenty minutes east of me in East Lyme is Rocky Neck State Park, also on the shoreline. About 150 camping sites.
I have the base built to my wood-fired oven but have had no time to start the brick dome. Hoping that'll get started the last week of July. Been spending most of my free time working on a business project with my son.
If you're headed to Maine, check out Acadia National Park. Always a favorite.

I'm hoping for mongo pizza v. "Some Guys".......
how would those campgrounds be for our mode of touring-a sprinter camper? I'll take a look at their info. Right now looks like a route via Albany and on the way to Helen & Mikes. She'll flesh out the remainder north, avoiding the Shore traffic we got snarled in last year on the way to the Boston Fest. Man, I suppose there's a lot of people around that town, there sure is a lot of cars.
this summer appears fast moving. Seems like we just shoveled snow......
I've only done tent camping at Hammonasett, and that was years ago with the kids' girl scout and cub scout troops. Haven't camped since.
Driving on I-95? I got hammered yesterday. Friday driving was strike one. Landing at JFK at 2pm was strike two, 2pm put me in the middle of the afternoon drive. Had 45-55 miles of stop and go. Traffic was held up further by three or four accidents. Probably one of the worst drives ever. Strike three. I got off the highway, ran a few errands, and got a bite to eat. That was a home run decision for me.
Normally a 1:45 drive took about 5 hours. Should have stayed in Senegal.
Ah, no. Good to be home.

I'll mention the spots to Joyce and have her peruse. She's done a more than admirable job navigating and securing ports in the storm. Sure would like a short rendezvous with you, it's been a while.
right now sitting by the channel by Muskeegan, Mi. 25th anniversary of three families of friends yearly camping. I swear, we eat better on these junkets than at home. No sterno cooking here.......
Yeah, I think Mongo has a suspicion. Should be clear from this pic.
More to the story.....
How did they come up with all those?
I have no idea how you'd come up with that many. I suppose if you knew a lot of repair guys for lawn services.
It's probably made of old recalled hardboard siding.
