Well folks after almost 8 years as being your SYSOP I will be handing in the Gavel next week. The reason being is that after many years here at Taunton I have decided to move onto something new.
I know I have not been hanging around here lately as I have been busy taking on other tasks, and because you are now and have been for a while in the most capable hands of the editorial team. But I did want to check in one last time and say good bye.
I have enjoyed immensely, all of the conversations that I have engaged in with you all and want to say thanks for all that you have contributed. I have met many of you in person and its always so interesting and fun to put a voice and a face to an online personality. This is truly one of the best online communities out there and you make that happen.
So with that I say farewell, good luck and Godspeed to all of you in whatever path you travel down.
Sincerely
Mark (AKA SYSOP)

And you think I'm gonna tell you? I took me 8 years to get rid of you... :)I am going to work for a company that specializes in B2B search solutions for web. I will send you an email with my new contact info when I get there. Thanks to everyone else for their support!Mark

DO take up a mystery BT identity when you decide to come back here as a regular BT user...and pop into the Tav and buy a round now and agin.
If you planted hope today, in any hopeless heart
If someone' s burden was lighter, because you did your part
If you caused a laugh, that chased a tear away
If tonight your name is mentioned, when someone kneels to pray
Then my friend, your day was well spent.

Mark- good luck with the new job.
But don't forget your friends here. You must have learned a lot of ways to annoy a moderator over the years. You could always come back and try them out. LOL
Good luck and don't be a stranger.
"Certainly it's nice to have some sort of "due process" with regard to moderator decisions (not that any law requires it), but (to borrow from another thread) there are "extremists" who cannot fathom why they are being censored, even though it's patently obvious to the rest of the peanut gallery, and they will, given a chance, drag out an argument forever, making the forum tedious for everyone else." We'll Miss you, Mark!
Best of luck. Thanks for a well run forum.
Keep the faith, bro. Remember: FRAMES RULE!

Good luck, Mark. I clearly remember the first time we met at Mike Smith's house. You came across as an earnest, good natured guy. You probably are exactly that.
Funny thing is, you say you've been Sysop here for 8 years? In all that time I don't remember running into you here, or noticing anything about you. Like an umpire, or referee, I'd say that's the sure sign you've done a remarkable job.
Best wishes to you and yours. You ever get out here to Western Washington, get in touch - always a spot on the porch, a cup of good coffee and more stories than you'll want to listen to waiting for you.
Thanks Jim, the same here. You didn't notice me as I always stayed behind the scenes and let the Mods do the ugly work...Mark
Thanks for doing a pretty much thankless job. Best wishes in your future endeavors!
thanks for your efforts, Mark, and best wishes as you move forward - it is a great place here, for the most part -
godspeed -

Same here Jeff. It was always a pleasure to help the Mods deal with another JeffBuck issue! :)I will be lurking about no worries there. How long do you think it would take for me to get kicked out of the Tavern? I know a few different ways...Mark
Thanks for all you've done, you will be missed.

Vince nice to meet you as well. That was one of the best things about the fests is putting a name a voice and a face to an online persona. Not so much hair to let down these days 8 years of wrestling breaktimers will do that to you.
Mark
Best wishes and all the success in the world in your new position.
Thanks for all your efforts here. You will be missed.
You sure are taking a long time to leave.

I still have nightmares from that event...
You stood close to the post. You stood far from the post. You stood to the left of the post. You stood to the right of the post.I hit the post, then hit you, every time. What can I say ? That horseshoe had your name written all over it.I think that had you stood behind me, I probably would have slipped on the backswing.

I think you are actually a Pro Horseshoe player and really you wanted to hit me, this lame excuse that you never play... If we kept track of points based on how many times you hit me you would have one!
That's right, I would have one.;o)
