Is there a geographical listing of some or all of the subs that post here? Seems to me a good business oportunity if not prohibited by TP. I’m starting a house (homeowner as GC) in the next few weeks and would give extra consideration to anyone that inhabits this site, just becuase it means they’re paying attention to their profession.

Good Idea. Don't think that is offered here...yet.
You could post in the Classified folder though--"Subs Needed for Pensacola"
That's a good idea on the surface. But the problem is that thjere are people who would add their name to the list without regard to the quality of their work ... they would see it as another advertising venue. Better to post "help wanted" and see who responds, and then check their contributions to thje forum to see if gthey are real stuff or real fluff.
If you (or anyone) were to ask for sub references in my geographical location, even if you didn't need my services, I would gladly give a few names ... as well as a few to avoid.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
Ed,I'm a kid (well, now 40) off the farm from the Sequin area.
Profile says Minnesota ... so you're originally from Seguin? Been gone long?

Left the farm in '72 when mom remarried a Air Force guy stationed in San Antonio. Step-Dad did two tours in Thailand. As a military brat moved around plenty. Left Texas in '74. Moved to MN about 5 yrs ago.Do they still have the big nut (pecan) statue in Seguin?
I live on the west side of pensacola but work in Mobile. Right now you need to be very careful about subs, due to all the hurricane subs running around. There is more than normal, un ethical type in town. Hire Nobody that does not have a local yellow page ad.
"Hire Nobody that does not have a local yellow page ad."
Scary thought that having a yellow pages ad has become a qualifier down there- usually the "good" subs don't need yellow pages ads....lol. But I guess given the situation down there, at least it shows you've been in town a few months.

Like BrownBagg, I'm also in Mobile, and like he said, I'd be wary of unlicensed/unprofessional contractors in your area (like mine) due to the Ivan repair. I've done several jobs on Dauphin Island recently and it's a madhouse down there! I wanna say Florida is more stringent about licensing requirements than Alabama. And yes I do have a Yellow Book ad (although it hasn't made me squat!!)--I won't have it next year due to referrals.
Hey BrownBagg, where you work in Mobile???Jason Pharez Construction
