A1 Carpenter/Cabinetmaker relocating …
*
My wife and I had a baby last September and have decided to raise him away from Nashville, TN. As my family is scattered between Boston, Ma and Belfast, Me. Portland is the perfect place to relocate to.
I began my carpentry career as a laborer on a framing crew over ten years ago. I worked my way up to crew leader within a few years. Before starting my first business, Little Guy Builders, I additionally worked for a foundation contractor, then a remodeling contractor. After a move to Nashville yielded some built-in cabinetry jobs, I started another business — Morrison Cabinetry and Construction.
Whether you are a remodeling contractor, a custom builder or a custom cabinet shop, I am confident that I can be an asset to your company. I am skilled in carpentry and cabinetmaking and have enjoyed success as a self employed businessman for the past five years. I understand of the importance of customer satisfaction as well as labor and material efficiency. Attention to detail was fostered through my training in biology at the University of Montana and has, by necessity, been enhanced through self employment.
I regularly study aspects of design, materials and techniques, incorporating them into my work whenever possible. I read relevant books, subscribe to trade journals and attend local seminars. With this acquired knowledge I have accomplished the following in the past two years:
>Designed and built a complete kitchen cabinet system.
>Designed and built vanities for five bathrooms — all different styles.
>Designed and built three entertainment centers — again, all different styles.
>Designed and built six bookcase units ranging from mission/craftsman to modern.
>Built counter tops of wood and plastic laminate with maple edging.
>Built and veneered two pair of stereo speakers 12″ square x 49″ tall with pecan.
>Completed two attic conversions with dormer additions.
>Framed two additions and
>One garage conversion.
Currently, I am in the middle of a rather interesting addition. It’s 6’x20′ with a bay window. The interesting part is that the entire addition is cantilevered over the driveway — supported by three steel I beams that are 26′ long and extend through the garage to the central bearing wall. I expect to be finished by the end of May at which time I’ll turn my energy towards packing for our move.
I am honest, hard working, reliable and intelligent. I work well with others as a leader, equal or understudy. I look forward to talking with you to further discuss employment. I will be happy to furnish a reference sheet upon request.
