Mike, I’ve run into this problem many times. If you install enough of them….it’s going to happen sooner or later! We have a guy that works the area (150 mile radius) repairing damage to these units or factory defects that show up after you already have the unit in place. He can fix ANY type of damage to them and it is absolutely perfect when he is done. You could never tell it was patched. He mixes gel to color and then applies clear coat and buffs with a polishing tool. It takes him less than an hour to fix the average ding. I would call several tub distributors and check for someone in your area. All of the distributors I deal with employ this guy to fix damage to their units. Good Luck!

Hello Mike,
Good to see you posting here again. I've had to make a repair in the past that a tiler caused ( of course he new nothing about it), fortunately it was on the edge of the bath. I used car bog to fill it with and then after sanding smooth ( taped around the patch to minimize further damage) touched it up with a paint on stuff meant for enamel baths.
Regards
Mark
*I had the same experience with a w-pool tub a short while back, the supplier had a guy who came in and did all their repairs. I later found out that they inspect all the units on delivery and fix at the warehouse alot more of them than I would have expected. Locate somebody who knows what they're doing, a botched repair is more offensive than none.BTW Mike, nice house. How long did it take you to build ?kevin zale

Lulled into a false sense of security after dozens of problem free construction site installations of acrylic/fiberglass tub/shower units, I didn't protect this one well enough.
Only 2 subs on site but of course no knows anything.
I have a 1/4" diameter chip now and looking for ideas on a remedy rather than replacement.
Supplier doesn't stock 'touch-up' kit.
Any ideas???
*Hi Mike,You forgot to mention if the tub enclosure was white or coloured. Regardless, skip the supplier and Email the manufacturer and get a touch up kit from them. I've always been able to get touch up kits from any manufacturer for our site deficiency repair kits.If for whatever reason, all fails, another thought would be to check out your local automotive body shop suppliers or marine repair shops.Gabe
