We have a new house with 3 zones of hydro air(air handlers run off a gas fired uttica boiler) and another zone for dhw(super store tank). The question is, we want to add a zone of radiant for a unheated sun room. I had 2 guys look at it with very different opinions: one wants to add right to the manifold that handles the other zones and return it to the other side which also is the return for the 4 existing zones. (I liked that answer, its easy). The guy who sounded like the expert, said we had to completely repipe the boiler furnace becasue if we add a zone of radiant we will get condensation in the furnace. I didnt exactly follow his logic, but he sounded real good.
Can anyone tell me if I can add a zone of radiant in parallel with the 4 other zones? Wont I be putting water back in at around 80 degrees? By the way, the sunroom is almost directly over the furnace.
Thanks for the help, this is an area that is really confusing. I did order Dan Hollohans book on this subject….
