I putting up an addition for a costumer of 140 sqf. It is intended to enlarge an existing dinning room. the existing Flooring is Brazilian cherry, about 3 years old, the new floor is to be weaved into the old but there is a drastic color difference, I was told that the new floor will darken to the same color in about 2 months, has any one had any experience with this situation, the thinking here is to not replace the existing 300 sqf. thanks for any help. The cherry will certainly blend over time, as it is quite sensitive to light.
Whether that's two months or two years, I dunno.....but I certainly wouldn't pull the existing floor.
Weave it in....it'l blend before the HO even realizes it.
