   you should be able to buy them at a Heavy & Highway contractor supply house.. any place that specializes in concrete form work

   Mike, thanks for the pic, found 'em for $10 bucks each. Bought 8 and shipping was not cheap. Great item, perfect for the way I think--gimme tools that make stuff easy so I can be lazy and still do a good job, and let me be a control freak too.

   8 of 'em cost $50 to ship out here.... edge of the western world. You'd probably pay about the same, since they're in OK City, about half way in between.

   I saw Norm Abrams using those while building a shed on the New Yankee Workshop today.  Nice shed, but he needs a reality check.  I think the walls were less than .001" out in the 10' direction.

   How could you even bother trying to tweak like that? Plywood and lumber both vary in thickness more than that. The lumber I used last week is narrower now by more than that amount due to being in the sun and wind. Silly.

   But the braces are cool. I hate trying to nail a brace to the floor and then move it 1/8" of an inch after someone bangs into it, or I realize I got it slightly off in the first place.

   Mason Supply in Portland shipped mine down with a load of other stuff for another customer.  Freight was Gratis.

   But I was amazed at the price....mine were also $10 each three years ago; brand new out of the box...couldn't build them for that!

   BTW, they're actually called adjustable form braces and are a concrete tool....not that it matters, but it makes them easier to find locally 'cause any masonry-type outlet can get them if they don't stock them.  And some rental yards keep them around.

   I was going to say... if steel is .70 per pound, these would cost almost ten bucks just in raw form. They say 'Made in China' on them, so maybe those guys have a secret.

   I'd be paying about $22 each at my local forms supplier, plus tax.
