I am installing 1/2″ Advantech sheathing on a garage wall, and when I got it home I noticed it has one shiny side and one with a rough pattern imprinted. When I went back to the lumberyard, they could not agree if the shiny side should be to the weather to aid water runoff, or if the rough side goes out to give better traction on roofs! Advantech is closed today (Sun.) and I can’t find anything on the website. I’ve got free help coming this afternoon and was hoping to put them to work! Anybody know which way it goes? Thanks.

pretty sure rough side goes out... which side has the manufacturer's data? inspector must be able to see that side.

rough side out, but I'm not sure if there's another reason besides traction. Like someone else mentioned, be careful to leave grade stamps exposed for inspection.

Whish ever you you install it, make sure to do all the sheets the same. Sometimes the tongue is not exactly centered, by design, and it won't matter if they are all face up or down.

I haven't looked really close yet at this product, but how does the window flashing integrate? Do you tape the flashing to the sheathing with the Huber tape?
I'm interested in this product because there has been some mention of the amount of moisture getting behind Hardi and staying there too long where it could cause mold or rot on OSB sheathing. But that is just a thought, I've not read anything just heard that.
