I have a PC 350 clipped head framing nailer that I was hoping to use when I side my house with Hardie Plank. Are the Paslode clipped-head nails (Hot dipped galvanized of course) suitable for this application, or should I go out and buy a round head nailer or coil nailer??

I have the round head PC framer, not sure I'd use it to do cememt siding though.
You need to be able to adjust the drive depth so the head of the nail sits flush with the siding instead of sinking in. Hitachi makes a good siding gun from everything I've read here.
I would recommend against the PC siding gun from personal expereince.
I've tried just about everything, from hand nailing, to a coil roofer and FINALLY got smart and got a siding nailer with flush head adjustment. Mine's a Makita, but the Hitachi is supposed to be best.
I tried a framing gun once, but without the ability to flush set the nailheads, any softspot, or knothole or whatever (especially older houses with the diagonal shiplap sheathing) some of your nails will disappear into the stud cavity.

So does that deal with the case where the studs are harder than others?
Well, I priced the Hitachi NV65AH, and in Canada it's $819 plus 15% tx! The Makita AN611 is a more resonable $650 plus tx. Anybody used the Makita nailer??
Can you get it shipped from Tool Crib?? I got mine from a big box store and they met Tool Crib's price and gave me another 10% off!!
Holy Cow thats spensive.

lightweight, removable nose piece, 1.25'' to 2.5'' capability, good drive depth adjustment, plastic or wire collated, uses many brands of nails..and like I said, real light.

Yep, they said it.
Use a coil siding nailer, a roofing nailer, or your hammer. I'd hand nail or screw it before I'd use a framing nailer.
myriad,
If you are serious about using a nailer, get a Hitachi NV65AH coil siding nailer. It's the best way to attach this stuff to a wall. $360 + - at Tool Crib

I recently sided my tall two story with a Hitachi roofing nailer - think it was AB45 something-or-other - no problem.
When we were forced to face nail, such as under a window, we pre-drilled and hand nailed.
Maze makes double hot dipped coil nails for the Hitachi.
