Hi,
anyone know of such a thing as a quiet filling bathtub spout? Maybe an aerator or something?
When my wife fills our tub with water it sounds like a 100 foot waterfall !
There must be something out there to keep noise down.
Thanks!

This centuries-old paint offers vapor-permeabiity, maintainability, and longevity with zero VOCs, but know its limitations before you get to work.

Too many elbows in the feed lines will cause lots of noise!
Thanks
The noise seems to be more like the water striking the tub itself. I was thinking of an aerator like in a kitchen sink, but without the gpm restriction.
I was able to look under the thing to find that it's an above floor rough in, and there's no mud base supporting the tub.
I'm wondering if that makes it behave a bit like a drum head.
I'll be replacing it in a year or so, so I'll be sure to fill in as much airspace as possible.
Anyone else out there know if this'll help?
Can you shower in the tub too? Is the noise gone when using as a shower? If so, maybe a different tub filler would be less noisy................
YES!
That's exactly what I'm looking for!
Are there different types of tub fillers? Certainly cosmetically, but maybe something that works differently? Maybe spreads the water jet out a bit?
Years ago we had a rubber hose with a funnel like end that mom would put over the spout to convert it into a sprayer. It was great for spraying down us kids. I haven't seen them in years, but perhaps they still make them. You could cut the spray head off and just let the hose lay in the bottom of the tub.
Good for you. Common sense wins again!
Flexible spout over spout, rest on tub's base, noise is greatly diminished.
