Hello all
I am considering purchasing a Craftsman 3 gallon air compressor – it’s only $100 on sale and i can carry it around. I am tired of dragging hoses from the basement from my 25 gallong compressor!! Will the small one drive my Stanley Bostich and Paslode nailers?
thanks

Probably . Does it go to 100 psi? The only downside will be that the copmpressor runs a lot trying to keep up with the demand. But for small jobs it will work well.

I got one of the Depot ('Husky') 1 gallon funky-looking red units for the same reason - Sick of lugging the bigger units around. Now I actually have a small, medium, and large compressors - I have my 4 gallon electric twin-stack mounted to a hand truck along with a 100 ft wheel of Flexeel hose and my wheelbarrow gas compressor is usually buried in the garage. The small Husky is a lot easier to carry around.
I'm usually just doing some touch up trim work or a small project at a friend's house or my church. The small compressor fires all my nailers from brad to framing. Obviously, it's not going to keep up too well with a larger demand from the framing nailer, but it's worked great for things like small amounts of blocking and other 'slow' framing stuff.
Of course I could just swing a hammer every now and then but hey, I did spend all that money on all those nail guns...
thanks - appreciate the response. Sears has the 3 gallon deal on sale this week for $100 so i may pick one up......
