I have a 4.5 gallon DeWalt air compressor that is about 5 years old that is a bear to start up in cold temps. I have to warm it up inside or put a 100 watt bulb on it for 30 minutes or it trips the reset button multiple times. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or do I just have to warm it up?

You have to warm it up
If you're doing a lot of cold weather work, get an oil-less compressor. They start in any weather.

We used to set ours next to our truck exaust for awhile before starting it. Other times, we'd store it in our JOBOX with a light bulb on all night.
As other have mentioned, make sure you have everything wide open and no pressure building.
