Building an inexpensive air destratifier and dust filter for my shop.
Inline duct fan I picked up at Restore and some 8″ duct from same, going add a ply wood box with a high efficiency furnace filter.
Which will work better, pulling air through the filter ahead of the fan or pushing through after the fan?
24 deg. here now and the shop floor gets a tad cool while the air at the 10’ceiling gets too hot, figured a constant fan with filter would clean the air while moving it from high to low.

IMO, pull the air through the fan, to keep the fan cleaner.
A 2 stage might work better. A larger pore filter in front a smaller pore size behing it to remove the smaller particles. If you put a filter after the fan then you'll reduce the overall effecincy of moving air.
