Anybody know of a kit available for a PC FN250A 16 ga. trim gun to prevent air gun from double firing?
Just spent 6 hrs. in the emergency room getting a 2 1/2″ brad removed from two fingers.

Wrong nail size for the application?
"If 'tis to be,'twil be done by me."
Don't think it was the wrong nail size - first nail went into work piece - second nail went into finger piece
As soon as I read your thread title, I thought PC... That said, I have that same gun. I had that trouble at first, and it took me a while to get used to it, but now it almost never double fires. Maybe get a different brand gun?
Sorry to hear about your trip to the emergency room. I prefer one of those "Urgent Care" kind of places... they give faster service and are more customer oriented... seriously! Only problem is that depending on the injury, sometimes they will turn you away.
Once I tore up my right hand with a router, my middle finger getting the brunt of the action... I definitely had the feeling that the ER doctor felt my wound (hamburgerized fingers) was beneath her. I was instructed to clean it up myself. Having a weak stomach for the sight of my own blood, I demanded help. A nurse was relegated to my aid who was nice about it... Whole ordeal took about 4 hrs.
On the up side - I bet you will be better about keeping your body parts away from the business end of a nail gun. I learned that the hard way too, although my injury was minor. A 10p up under the finger nail will get your attention though... :-)
I knew it was a PC from the title too. Lots of threads here before this - read archives and order new trigger

Were those previous posts not the framing nailer instead of the finish? I have shot myself twice with finish nailers. Once while nailing some deck pickets one followed the grain and did a 180 deg turn and came up through a finger. Next time I had more nail than workpiece and stupid but his finger on back to hold it. Since then I pay particular attention to not having my skin within two nail lengths or in direct line of fire.
BTW - I think PC will send you a red trigger that changes the way the gun fires. Makes it so it won't bump fire. Maybe that would be the ticket. I'm pretty sure it is free too. Just call them up. My bostich framer came like this, and I don't like, especially for sheathing, but since I don't frame for a living, I can deal with it, and figure there is much less chance of an accident.
Did you buy it new? The trigger it comes with is the single trip, you need to call and get them to send you the bump fire trigger. I think the single pull for those is red and the black is bump. Check the manual or call pc and make sure you have the single. Also, check the air pressure, if you running more than 100 psi all guns get real touchy and will double fire much more often.
Appreciate the info.
I did buy the gun new and it came with only the black trigger and it does bump fire - obviously.
I will call PC.
I've never had a finish nailer double fire, framers yes. A gun is prone to double firing when too much pressure is applied. Most times when this happened I was on a ladder and was reaching and firing.I tend to push hard when reaching. Most guns only double fire when shooting a single shot. When bump firing I never had this happen.
