Hi all,
I’m doing a new kitchen with a very deep countertop, about 37″, so all seams will be very visible. The linear kitchen has a section that is 120″ between between panels with no logical place for a seam. It’s been decided to use Quartz.
Now, the problem is that neither Silestone or Zodiaq offers lengths beyond 118″ and that’s just to annoying, I miss 2″! Is there anyone that can think of a clever solution for this (some sort of elegant padding in the ends?) or even better have found a way to get slightly longer Quartz slabs? Apparently Granite can be special ordered 12′.

Where are you located?
There is product called Cambria, same as Silestone or Zodiaq, I can get a 120" slab from a local supplier near Kansas City. You may look into finding a supplier local to you that sells Cambria
Hi CAGV,You got me excited there for a minute so I gave them a call, but they also said that the longest they can offer is 118"? Perhaps the physical slab is 120" but you can't get more than 118" out of it?Nicoman
That could be it, I simply called our supplier of Cambria and asked what is the largest slab I can order, they said 120, I should have asked about final size
Hey YOU!!!
Thanks for the disc!
No problem, I forgot to ask, right song?
EGGS-acktly. Thanks again.
EDIT: Try to listen to it with Windows Media player doing the visualizations...random battery works well...who needs drugs when ya have that?

What about using a 1" thick backsplash on both sides?
Hi Kicker,That's not a dumb idea! Thanks for that, I almost feel stupid for not thinking of that myself. I'm thinking of having a glass panel behind, but if a I have a low quartz backsplash all around the glass can stand on it.Thanks again.Nicoman
