I own an 1820’s Federal period home in the White Mtns of NH. The window sash are original but unfortunately cannot be appreciated because of overlying stormswindows. Anyone know of ‘invisible” storms that mount inside the house? Also would running a weather seal on the side of sash help?
Appreciate any assistance.
Thanks

I have sort of the same problem although I don't have storms on my
circa: 1680 house and don't wanna ugly them up with any, yet I need some, so I thought about buying the color velcro that my windows are (they come in different colors) . The self stick kind, and sticking it to the 3/4" reveal of the window behind the trim. Then velcro to storm window grade plexi glass. It'd be one big clear sheet and easy to install.
I contacted velcro companies and they come in even hurricane strength as well as plexi companies that also come in storm window compatible strength.
I think I figured out it would come to about $50 a window for a large window.
I'm going to try a few windows here next year and see how it works before I manufacture enough for my whole house.
But to answer your original question.....there are "many" advertisers in FHB that sell storms that you're talking about.

We've had a couple of threads on this in the past. If I can link these right, you can review the previous comments.
I use interior storms and am happy with the results, but clearly the efficiency is increased if you weatherstrip the exiting sashes as well.
