All of you guys have done so well, I’m going to ask another question! Went to the METALCON show in Etlanner, GA this week. All about metal construction techniques for commercial and residential buildings. there were several outfits there hyping aluminum (OK, aluminium for you Canadians) sandwiched insulation. Claim it’s better than porcupines and fiberglass by a long shot. Matter of fact, the outfit I spent most time talking to is Canadian, w/ a rep from Louisianna. I heard enough Thibodeaux jokes to keep me rolling on the floor till Jerry Clower is reincarnated.
OK, so much for the intro. Have any of you had experience w/ this stuff? Sounds like it might be the answer to every lagger’s prayer. Does it live up to its hype? Is it as cheap as fiberglass? Is it as easy to install as they say? Do you need to couple it w/ fiberglass to stop conductive & convective heat transfer? This stuff stops radiative heat transfer. Will the guy in the FHB ad that hugs the porcupine put it down and embrace this stuff instead? Do any of you understand the bumper sticker “You’d be like this, too, if a house fell on your sister.”?
