how does one anchor a 4×4 post to 2″ bluestone placed over precast steps? I am thinking of using a 1″ pipe flange with 12″ pipe hole sawed into the bottom and using 4 redhead 3/8″ anchors – how would you do it – thanks

I woulkd rather use oither kind of post, but if that isthe choice, then drill at center of post through the bluestone and into the crete so you have good 4" hole about 3/4" diaameter, Get an 1/2" x 8" lag, cut the head off and epoxy it into the hole with threads pointing up.
Now drill a 1/2" hole up into the center of the post, fill it with epxy and screw it down onto the lag. All this after the first has set up overnight. Shim and brace the post while th expoxy kiccks
