Thanx to all who are contributing to my “vinyl window” query. And for my next trick, this house gets a flat roof, too. There are a lot of advanced membrane roofs out there with at least 20 year warranties, EPDM and Hypalon among them. I also know that installation is probably more important than the material, when you consider both scuppers and thru-the-roof drain systems, and the necessity for perfect seams and good drainage.
So what are your stories about flat roofs? How about folks in the Southwest, where you see a lot of adobe style homes that carry a snow load as well? I’m doing this project in SW Colorado, designed for a 50 lb. snow load.

Check out this site http://www.hydro-stop.com they have systems to waterproof almost anything. It is fairly easy to work with, the top coat can be renewed and it comes in a decent selection of colors.
