I can’t remember the name of the doors right now… it’s driving me nuta. Frenchwood maybe? Anyway, the Anderson ones… wood on the inside, and aluminum clad on the outside…. with integral storm door.
Anyone know what I’m talking about? Well my question is…. do you know if the storm door part can be replaced without replacing the whole unit? I was looking around at mine today, and I can’t seem to figure out if and where it seperates. My electrician left it open with the closer thing set… and went home. The wind beat the crap out of and now it’s all bent, broken, and doesn’t close right. I’d hate to trash the whole door because of the storm, but we really need a storm door in this location.
Maybe I should just remove it and install a regular storm door over it? I dunno.
A little help here? Bueller?

Good remodelers will package up all the install/operation/care/use manuals and give them to the homowner.
Andersen has pretty good install instructions on their site. Take a gander, you're mechanically inclined, no?

The door came with the house. I'll have a look over at their website..... just thought I could save myself some digging if someone knew off-hand. It's Sunday... I'm lazy.View Image
Wish I could help. The last and. storm put on was just like any other one I think I remember. Is there a cover over the screws or something that's stumping you taking it down?A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

There's a cover and screws... but they're for the install of the whole unit. I've put a bunch of these in in the past on new work... but the storm comes assembled and attached to the door right out of the box. Unfortunately I never paid enough attention to one before installing to notice if and where the storm can be removed. But looking at it now... the frame for the storm appears to be incorporated right into the jambs for the door.... like one piece. But I'm hoping there's a way to seperate them.
Like I said... I'll figure something out. But figured it was worth a shot to see if anyone else has been in a similar predicament and could save me some fussin'. No worries... I'll do my homework.View Image
I got timed out trying to load the instruction on the hinged insect screen for the FW Hinged Pat. Door. Give it a look if you have the time to sit there and watch that spinning hourglass.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.
