I see LRC Wood Products, a regional engineered wood products maker in Warsaw, IN, has added insulated headers to its product lines, which include I-joists, rims, and LVLs.
Their insulated headers, available in 9-1/4 and 11-1/4 depths, and widths of 3.5 and 5.5, are made with 1-inch thick LVL at the outer faces, and a glued-in core of EPS foam.
Has anybody used these? What do they cost? They are not available to me, but I might want to talk my dealer into seeing if he can get them through distribution.
