Thanks to your replies, I was able to find a casement operator crank and handle for one of the windows in a house we just bought.
Now we’re needing to find assembly hardware for some single hung aluminum windows that date back to the late 1950s in another house.
The sashes are held together with what appears to be heavy duty screws that are screwed in from the bottom corners in an upward direction and somehow pulls the top part of the sash down, holding everything together.
Although old and only single pane, the windows nevertheless are very appealing because of the wide expanse of glass area they provide.
It will be another year or so before we attempt a drastic window replacement project (AFTER the promised article appears in FH….).
In the meantime, it would be nice if we can fix this one sash that is falling apart after the previous owner’s attempt at reglazing.
