Posting on my wife’s account here…
My wife’s suffering from some problems with hand numbness when she uses garden power tools, and I’m thinking that some anti-vibration gloves will help. I’d appreciate your collective recommendations on good brands, things to watch for, mail-order or other sources, etc. She’s got small hands to fit her height, so I’d need a source that sells small or even extra-small sizes.

An inexpensive experiment might be to try some bicycle gloves. Many of them come with gel inserts and can be had for less than $30.00.

I tried some anti-vibration gloves as bike gloves. Didn't work at all, really. Padding in the wrong areas.
She might need electrical testing to determine if she has carpel tunnel syndrome. (They pass a current from elbow to fingers and monitor the results, somehow they can determine if the CT is pinching the nerve.)
Does she wake up at nights with her hands numb/intense pain? If so, she might need a carpel tunnel release.
More info now. There's gloves with some kind of high-tech foam in the palms and others with some kind of gel. Any opinions?
Pheonix,
I use a pair of fingerless gloves actually marketed as weightlifting gloves, bought at a Sports Authority store for about $20.
Ocelot brand, gel palm, stretchy Spandex type material on the back, Velcro wrist closure, glove body and palm is deer skin for good gripping.
Wearing them really makes a difference in comfort for hammer drilling, heavy nail gunning, etc. They might work for her. My hands are not that big and mine are marked large.
Good luck!
Jim
Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
