Does any one have the Moisure Control Handbook by Joe Lstriburek ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0471318639/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance) ?
If you have it, what do you think of it? Id like to get it, but am being a cheap skate and dragging my feet at the price. Looks like it would be a good book to have.
Thanks

I have the book. Its got a lot of good, up-to-date information in it. Gunner should have bought a copy for his first site super.
It's basically a compilation of a lot of JLC articles from recent years. But if you don't subscribe to JLC, or don't feel like hunting down the old articles, IMO its worth getting.
I really need to look at links before I respond.
The book I have is called the JLC Guide to Moisture Control. It not the same as the one Amazon has. Its also only $40.00.
Yes, the one by Joe Lstriburek is a completely different beast. I thought about the JLC one, but when I found out that it was a compilation of past articles I passed. I have the last few years of the magazine, and what I dont have I have on their CD.
Although, it would be nice to have all that info in one spot. Suppose I could take a look at the table of contents and then just make a list of all the articles.Live by the sword, die by the sword....choose your sword wisely.
I haven't seen the book yet. But I wouldn't hesitate to ask my local library to see if they could dig up a copy before I ordered one. There's another book out there with a similar title by a guy named Rose (I think). Was a fairly expensive book but my library was able to locate a copy at a nearby university. Glad I borrowed it before I decided to buy it because I didn't think it was worth buying just to have it on my bookshelf.
Getting the library to get it first isnt a bad idea. Might try that route.Live by the sword, die by the sword....choose your sword wisely.
Here's the book by Rose that I had mentioned. Worth a look if you can borrow it somewhere, lots of theory on the issues. I would imagine any university with a school of architecture would have it on the shelf. My local library was able to borrow it via interlibrary loan from Dartmouth.

I downloaded the Moisture Control Handbook off the web several years ago, publication date 1991. Maybe you can still find it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, just open it up to see how it works!
