Anyone have experience with Lite Deck?
I recently priced an EPS product called Panel Deck, made by the folks who make PolySteel ICF’s. Panel Deck is a foam form used for floors. You lay it hoizontally and pour concrete over top of it. Concrete flows into channels formed in the foam to create concrete ribs. It’s pretty slick.
Anyway, the pricing I got for this product was between $3.50 – $5.50 per sq. ft. (Have to do the engineering to know how big a form I need. That determines the exact cost.) That seemed pretty high to me.
I know there’s another product out there called Lite Deck. I was curious if anyone knew what that cost. If you know any other similar products, I’d be curious to hear your experiences with that as well.
Thanks!

I used LiteDeck for my own house, an all ICF house - for both floors. The panels costs were about what you were quoted - depending on thickness. The forms themselves work very well, and do not flex much when your installing the forms - even without supports underneath I could walk across a 16 foot span. The cost of the supports must be factored in to the cost of the flooring system though. If your going to go the insulated concrete form route, you might as well put in radiant floor heating.
The only problems we experienced with the LiteDeck product was running the plumbing and electric through the forms - had to cut channels in the foam with an electric chainsaw; that foam gets everywhere!
Lite-Decks a good product in my opinion - solid floors, very little noise transmission.
The thickness of the forms depends on how long a clear span you need and how much steel you use in the flooring.
Any specific questions I can help you with, with regards to Lite-Deck?
