…simple tapered wood balusters with no detail??? We are redoing the second floor of our 1975 colonial and need to match the existing balusters. They are 36″ long, about 1 1/4″ diam at the bottom tapering to about 1/2″ at the top. They are simple painted wood with no detail or “turnings.” I Googled “stair parts” and “balusters” and checked every supplier site on the first two pages. Everything I found had various levels of detail, turnings and square bottoms. I also searched “oldhouseweb.com” and “oldhousejournal.com.” Still nothing! I can’t believe a simple tapered baluster is that hard to find! Any leads are appreciated!!

Could you possibly post a photo of what you have?

I don't remember which stair parts company they came from, but I used some of them last year. I just called my trim parts guy at the local lumberyard anddescribed what I wanted.
