I’ve seen this product several times on the various DIY channels and it looks like a handy tool to have around. For those of you who may not be familiar with it, this is a portable 18v bandsaw with a 2″ capacity that has an optional docking station that permits the saw to be used in a stationary vertical position. The tool is made by Stout Corp. I’m considering a purchase, but I’d prefer to hear some opinions from you guys before I do.

I am not familiar with that model, but I used to have an old Crafstman 14" that we would take to flooring jobs. Lightweight and and was esential for cuts at curved landings. Used it for window stool cuts as well.

I have not ... but a competing product, the Milwaukee version, has been accepted with open arms on the jobsite. For cutting pipe that has already been installed, it's a wonder. The only 'drawback' is the limited battery life. (My "pipe and strut" work station still uses a corded bandsaw.)
I do like the idea of the optional base for the Stout; sometimes a small vertical bandsaw is quite handy.
The existence of the Milwaukee on the market has resulted in much reduced pricing for the Stout; when they first appeared, they were quite dear.
You might look into other brands; I doubt that the competition will allow for either Milwaukee to have a monopoly, or for a new competitor to enter the market.
Here is the company website.

And I see that they offer 30 day trail.
And I looked at the dealers. Locally I see a couple of major tool suppliers, rental places, and electrical supply houses.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
