What is the proper way to install roll roofing? Have a shed roof with a little under a 2 inch pitch. It’s already shingled with 3 tab shingles. Can I go over the shingles? How do I fasten the roll roofing to the old roof? Roof size is 8 feet by 24 feet. Last winter had some ice build up on the roof forcing some water under the shingles causing a leak. I thought with a generous overlap on the roll roofing I would prevent this from happening again.Roof is over my wood storage shed.

If you leave the shingles on, your roll roofing will only last half as long and will be harder to apply without damaging it. You need to get them off.
Then nail dwon 30# paper with plasticap nails or tin tabs.
best on roll roofing is to apply it with hot asphalt, but for this, you can get by with cold process or even plastic cement. then use roofing nails about every 6" along all the edges.
5 years and do it again.

Exactly. Roll roofing doesn't last.
What about trying torchdown?
