Arched roof solutions – I want to help my old, widow neighbour

My old, widowed neighbour has a roof on her entrance that keeps leaking. This shouldn’t be surprising because it looks like it is comprised of scraps of roll roofing with the seams sealed with aluminum duct tape. . . I could also detect no evidence of any kind of flashing against the sidewall.
The roof is of sentimental value because her husband constructed the entrance, so rebuilding it as a gable roof is unacceptable to her.
Ok guys, I want to help her out but I’m not 100% sure what to do here because the solution has to be affordable, so a coppersmith is not an option. I could put on some glue-down EPDM but I wouldn’t know how to flash it to the sidewall, and it intersects with the eave/soffit as well for added complication.

You can probably get away without flashing to the wall, since the thing is tucked under the eaves like that.

Is that vinyl siding?
And where is the leak coming from do you think?
