Were building a log home in north central washington, we are to the point of starting up the heating which is a radiant floor open system th esystem is using an ARGO tankless boiler. The question I have is, does the ARGO boiler require a storage tank to allow a volume of hot water which will be used for the domestic hot water and floor heat. Were using the same system in our shop we built last summer, the differance is were using a propane hot water tank as the heat source which is allowing the volume for the circ system to draw from.
Thanks in advance, Skip

Hello fellow Washingtonian.
First off I'm not a fan of open systems ( too much oxygen ) it's just a big long petrie dish.
It really depends on the specs of the boiler & the manufactures recommendations.
Is the boiler rated for domestic use?
Good morning, I finaly got in touch with the folks in New York who are the reps for the boiler. I'm doing 2 things, 1) at his encourgement I'm changing to a closed system, 2) I need to build a loop of 1-1/4" piping to provide a volume of water which will allow the boiler to operate as designed. The problem was my own fault and it's going to get fixed and looks like we will be OK. Thanks for the reply
