Gabe:    I would be proud of just taking those aerial pictures for those projects Gabe.   I recall seeing some close ups of your projects that you have a lot of influence on.  I dont for the life of me know how you can stay on top of it all..but you do.. Nice projects.

Thanks for the kind comments Stan.

I really don't think my work is any harder or demanding than yours. We all have a tendency to admire someone else's work. I certainly admire your work and a lot of the other work that the rest of the clan post from time to time.

You have to remember that you're on your own. I have a team and a lot of the time I'm just a facilitator.

Gabe, your team must think highly of you. Those are some impressive projects.

I have managed a few much much smaller projects and know all to well what a facilitator goes through. Thought my first name was "hey" for a few years. I can't imagine the stuff you have to keep up with from day to day on project of those sizes.

          Dave,

The bigger the project, the easier it gets.

Every super that I know has his little way of "gettin it done". The advantage of being on larger projects is that you get to learn from other supers on your team.

Years ago, I never had the opportunity to talk to another super except at Christmas parties and such.

Personally, I use the computer a lot including, my daily super's log, all correspondence, including minutes, accessing most of my drawings and specifications and total project management.

BUT.........I still use a wall full of clipboards with all my active files on them, including my RFI's, CCN's, CO's and all site instructions.

I hate file drawers and don't use them other than to archieve.

I can't remember telephone numbers to save my life. I even have to look up 911. It's like I have a mental block preventing me from taking up space in my mind for anything that I can readily look up.

I don't write down that I'm actively working on because if I write it down my brain says it's now okay to file and forget it, it's documented.

Like I said, everyone does it differently and I've been lucky to have found a system that works for me.

Did you happen upon a picture that fit, or did you or some else take it from up above?  Just curious

    1. Gabe | Oct 13, 2003 10:16pm | #4

No, I just found it by accident.

Besides even my little Nikon couldn't match the quality especially with me flying a plane at the same time.

I just got my nikon digital in the mail today,  Feels to small though, like I might break it...

with me flying a plane at the same time

are you a pilot?  I was thinking maybe it was a helo ride or something.

        1. Gabe | Oct 14, 2003 12:06am | #6

Yes I'm a pilot as well. I have no idea as to what kind of craft was used for the photo shots.
