In typical install speak, my DW instructions say “Do not use any fittings in the drain line with less than 7/8″ ID.” I think this is in reference to the machine drain hose. The end of the machine’s hose goes down to 1/2 ” so I assume the wall side of the drain can be 1″ no? I have a Johnson T with 1/2″ line into it, so I would like to not have to give that up.

Generally speaking most of those minimums are once the drain goes from pumped to gravity.
I have not seen any pressure discharge DW's that wouldn't work with a Johnson tee.

Thanks. I hooked it up and ran it on rinse and it cleared ok. Much quieter than the sink method, that is for sure. Will watch it for a while to make sure all is clear.http://www.etherhuffer.typepad.com
