I need to install gates in two stone walls. One wall is solid rock, the other is rock over a block core. I am considering hammer-drilling holes and epoxying in pairs of right angle hinge pin hardware. My concerns and questions are:
1) What is a good brand, type and source of bits to use on hard rock?
2) What are the chances that the hammer-drilling will dislodge the drilled rock from the wall? The walls are about 18″ thick and well built.
3) What am I not thinking about which could give me troubles?
