My water heater was only giving me 15 minutes of hw, I checked the elements and found the lower unit bad.
I replaced it.
Now I have no hot water. None! I took my ohmmeter and check the thermostats, the bottom read 0.3 the top reads 0.2.
What could be the problem?
{edit} hmmm, after more research I see that i’m only getting about 106 volts to the heater.
That could explain why its not working NOW, but why would it work before with the bad element?

It was the breaker. Go figure. How in the heck does all that happen at the same time? Strange I say

I certainly hope you had turned the breaker off before changing out that element.
You got that right! I'm a freak when it comes to electricity.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
