Hello,
I am looking for some instructions for intalling a fold-down ceiling ladder for access to the attic space of a house. Can anyone direct me to online (or other) information on this subject.

Have you chosen the ladder in particular you'll be installing?
If so, try the manufacturers website.
There have been several discusions on the topic here at BT.....try the search function.
Installation is rather straight forward...its the framing of the opening that entails most of the actual work and know how.

My experience has been that the instructions included in the box are pretty good. Despite what some of the more manly guys here will say, I think it goes best with two people. The second person doesn't have to do much, so a teenager or wife is all you need.

The last one I installed was from HD by mfgr Century Industries Inc. Not that I could find them on the web. Ed was correct in that the instructions are clear, concise, and comprehensive, and that two people are preferred. (With only one, you better be prepared to lift the unit up and muscle it into place yourself from the attic, so you'll need some rope, a pulley might be handy, or a winch. I have the instructions that came with the unit, maybe if you had a fax number...?
