I have a light string in my attic with 10 fixtures. I control them with a wall-mounted light switch that has a pilot lamp so I’ll notice it when they’ve been left on. (The light string is actually plugged into a receptacle in the attic that is controlled by the switch). However, I have a problem with this setup. The switch is located in a walk-in closet and the view of the switch pilot lamp is often obstructed by some bi-fold doors at the closet opening.
Is there a switch that I can purchase that will attract my attention with some sort of audible reminder if these lights are accidently left on?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
PS. I thought of using a timer-operated switch (I already use several), but I don’t want the hassle of having to navigate the darkness to reset the timer if it clocks out while I happen to be in the attic.

Motion Detector?
Don't know of an audible signal but.
You could run an alert light out of the closet I'm sure.
Seems like I remember reading of a "closet light switch". There was a timer built into the switch, so that after a period of inactivity the lights would go off.
BTW - A string of lights plugged into an outlet doesn't sound cool to me. I don't know if it's against codes or not, but it seems like a bad idea.
Plug a radio into the outlet and tune it to a good hard rock station. Place it on the floor of the attic so the bass will carry through to the ceiling below.
