Looking for a device that activates plug-in shop vac to shop tools i.e. table saw, so vac starts when saw starts. Anything out there, or a way to rig it up?
thanks, Carl

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Sears sells one.
Thanks all for the info., I'll pick one up this week end.Carl
Woodcraft had one that would run the vac for 15 secs after the tool went off. About $35, I think.
You could hook up a plug to the the switch easy enough. I tried it a while back but found the saw starting at exactly the same time as the vac was too much amp draw for some jobsite circuits and the breaker would trip.
Now I have a separate switch mounted to the saw for the vac, router etc.
May neighbors respect You, and troubles neglect You.

It will carry a combined 15 amps, has small delay turning off the switched outlet to allow vac to clear line. I like mine. One guy over at SMC said he had problems with his but the concensus of all others was great.

Depends on your electrical savvy and the saw.
I wired a vac onto a 240V. Unisaw by opening the starter box, wiring to one side (120V.) of the line going to the motor, and brought it outside with a standard chord-end female plug to accept the vac's plug.
Good luck
Bob,
Where did you get the neutral for 120v? If your saw is factory wired you have a 12-2 line cord (hot-hot-ground). Better safe than...oops that hurt....
