Autofeed Drywall Screwgun Recommendation
Have a job coming up where we need an autofeed drywall driver for screwing drywall. Anyone have a recommendation ? I see they make cordless units for this but I am a little leery about their long term use.
Any thoughts ?

on a scale of 1-10, cordless Senco is about a 7, Hilti with the attachment is 8.5, corded. The Hilti you'll give to your kids. The Senco will last a few years (batteries).

Hilti makes a cordless screw gun that you can slam the smi88 auto feed mechanism to, makes a sweet cordless auto feed gun... for a lot of $$ though.

Last Spring I purchased the Senco, Duraspin DS200. It's an aftermarket auto-feed adapter that attaches to a variety of screwguns. Mine are the Dewalt DW274. The Senco cost $30, I think. I eyed it while standing in the Tool Coral at HD. A contractor next to me suggested it and I figured I could always return it + $30 is cheaper than buying a 5th screwgun. You have to buy the Senco screws, also available at HD $14-$16/ 1K. What a freaking time-saver! I love the thing. For many ceilings, I don't even need a ladder now. The adapter makes the gun that much longer. No complaints and I bought 2 more. Now only one gun is still in original assembly mode.

The Hilti cordless is a sweet setup, although pricey at ~ $450. Youn can buy their autofeed corded model for around $175-200 I think. Been a while since I was looking at the autofeeds.
I have the Hilti corded one. It was about $200.00 Well worth it. Their price for screws are alot of money. Senco screws fit the Hilti. It even says it on the container.
About $12.00 cheaper. Works just as good as the Hilti screws. It takes a little time to figure out how to feed the screws into the top of the collar, but once you got it, you got it. Go with Hilti
JLC has a review of the hiltis this month.
If they're like any other Hilit, they're big $ but well worth it long term, I've never been disappointed with one of their tools. Never used one of the hiltis autofeeds myself...
on the flip side, HD out here has the senco cordless version for 150 bucks, and it works pretty well and for the price, can't really be beat.
I have a quickdrive corded and wouldnt recommend it.
