Hurricane shutter design needed. Situation: Orlando FL with three 7 ft x 7 ft plate glass windows recessed into 4×4 wood frames, Block house built 1950. Windows face the lake (South).
I remember when I was in the Navy many years ago that the barracks and many other structures in the Carribean and especially at Gitmo had large “slatted:wooden shutters which pivited out from the top of the window and provided shade durring the day like an awning, but could be lowered and securred in a vertical position in event of a storm.
Does anyone know of a design source?

Those are Bahama shutters and should be available from any aluminum or storm shutter supplier.
