the Eureaka Zone that is. I paid a visit to Dino this afternoon to pick -up an EZ Guide system that I need for some upcoming projects.
FYI I do interior renovation work in Brooklyn and Manhattan and finding space to set up and use the table saw can be tough to impossible. So, after much head scratchin’ , reading, and investigation (met Dino at a local Woodworking show in Dec.), I pulled the trigger.
As impressed with the guide system as I am, I must say spending a few hours talking with Dino about selling innovation and seeing the prototypes of his successes and his failures made my day. The man is no “one trick pony”, he showed me a couple of what I thought were great tools to make drywalling better, faster, and easier.
The only thing that’s scary is his love for the green Fiat in his driveway, that I don’t get- at all ;>)

When you say you bought the system - did you happen to buy a table?
If not, me thinks you should.
It is my new favorite tool. Not just for the guide system either. I use it for assembly of face frames that I am puting together with pocket screws. Allows room for the clamp while the frame lays flat on the table.
Also of course works great with the easy guide or any shooter board - quick easy way to support sheet goods so you can cut with no binding
well that's enough, I have posted about this table elsewhere recently as well, can't seem to help myself - It is just so simple and makes so much sense - no more wasting time screwing around with repositioning 2 bys on sawhorses anymore
Enjoy your EZ guide it is also a nice tool

You've never had an Italian car have you?
During high school I worked at a gas/repair station, two things I remember my boss always saying were "French cars suck" and "the best way to fix a Fiat is with a gallon of gas and a match". This was from a guy who collected Corvairs and liked doing electrical work on Brittish cars.
Funny, the things I remember.

italian cars get in the blood.yes they cost an arm and a leg to maintain and run, but you don't care it's all for love.

My legendary Fiat, Flew over a semi trailer with 85 miles per hour, right in front of an upcoming semi and keep going. Ok,for only few miles after I lost all the antifreeze due to a collision (before I discover that my Fiat can fly.) with a big dead buck.
Why do they have this high speed limits on I-85? or I-85 is the HWY number?
Greek jock. Friend of mine come over from GR.and he was driving on NJ Twpk (known as I-95). After he was pull over he ask the trooper why he was given a ticket.
-Officer, I was just following the signs. 95. Not even a mile above the speed limit.
So, the officer call for a tow truck and told to my friend:
Sir. Can I have your keys please? we will need a helicopter to stop you when you hit the hwy 287.
I'm sure this jock have many versions.
dammit , dino.... it's JOKE...
not JOCK..
no wonder i'm sitting here scratching my head

Mike-
that's OK.
I thought GR was Grand Rapids.
( GR jock ??? )
Why not? If you can find the joke on the jock, is like the I-95 speed limit.
you make me laugh so much with the (GR jock???)
But, it is nice to be able to laugh with your self.
I should use the Spell Check..every time????
That was a good one Mike.
Thanks Mike, I will send you the bill for my new Dell keyboard that I just spit Coke Classic into....
Rest assured that the flatscreen monitor cleaned up real nice!
Ok, I gotta come to the defense of Italian cars. The two best automotive engineering companies in teh world are Honda, and Ferrari. (And yes, as an owner of a 911, it pains me to say that!)
Todays current Ferraris are technological tour de forces, and are really very reliable. When we Americans put a V8 together, as in the new Z06 Corvette, we have an engine that displaces 7.0 litres, and produces 500 hp. A good pckage, that vette. The current Ferrari F430 has a V8 that displaces 4.3 litres (263 cu in, smaller than the original V8 Mustang) and produces 485 hp. Redline 8500 rpm. 0-60 times : Vette- 3.9 claimed by Chevy) , the F430 as tested by Road and Track mag, in 3.5 secs. Both cars are normally aspirated...no superchargers or turbos or other "cheats".
Agreed.... that the car SHOULD be wonderful for that kind of $...but, my point is, look what the engineers have done with a tiny lightweight engine! Nearly the same power out of an engine that displaces about 40 perecent LESS! And even with a power defecit, and a torque defecit, the Ferrari is faster.
Nobody can trump Honda though, when it comes to specific output (the hp per liter of displacement) ...teh Honda S2000 got 240 out of thier california emissions legal 2.0 liter engine, for a figure of 120/ltr. Even this Ferrari is "only 112/ltr.
And....as musclecars are all the rage, the old Hemi 426 was thoguth of as a 426 hp motor. But that was before "net" Hp readings, where the "stuff" (alternator, etc) had to be actually hooked up. Figures dropped 20-30% once the "net" system went into effect. Even still, the old Hemi is less effective than the new Vette Z06, and that makes 71.5/ltr.
And as pointed out above....nobody but the Italians can make a car look the way they do. Art indeed, but functional art.
If I ever make it big in this game, (LOL!!!!!!!!!) and find lots of money in my bank that I have no use for, I would go out and get an F355, or an F430 in a heartbeat.Jake Gulick

Thank god I have only owned one italian car, ever.Just the wiring alone was a nightmare. No wire anywhere, was routed where it was "supposed" to be routed. Not only that, no wire anywhere started out, and ended up the same color...Less logic goes into the building of an italian car, than went into the building of the platypus.
The person you offend today, may have been your best friend tomorrow It is easy to be friends with someone you always agree with.
I had a Fiat 124 Spyder ... neat car except for two things. The motor mounts were a little soft, so iof you popped the clutch starting out, it would porpoise for a while. And the steering wheel tilted away from you like on a bus.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
design by pininfarina. One of the best, if not the best car designer ever. Is nice to see someone put his name on the car. What I saw in this car is the " clean line of thought" behind designing a car like the spyder. Is more than a car. Is art on wheels. Pininfarina must dreamed of this shape. To me is better than Picasso and Michael Angelo. Where you can get a "piece of art" that you can enjoy for so little money?
Edit. I'm posting 2 pictures from another Spyder. Take a moment to see the lines. Summer feels better in my Fiat Spyder.
