It has to be a bad one. I just put a new chopmaster on my 12" two days ago and went to twon on a big kitchen job with prefinished maple crown, and it's the smoothest, vib- free cut I ever got on a chop saw. I would return it and tell them the story and expect a full refund or new blade. You certainly pay enough for one of those, but so far I think it's worth it.
dya think i should return it to Coastal where I bought it or Forrest.
I put one on the bosch table saw and it was radically better than the freud. got one for the 12"bosch double scms but have been chopping framing and haven't put it on yet.
I think Dan has some good advice.
jer,
just changed the blades, one right after the other, four times total.
if there was an arbor or washer problem it would have shown out with the cheap freud blade, doncha think?
You did check that you had the correct rotation, right? You can't rely on simply putting the printing on the same side as the other blade.
If ignorance is bliss why aren't more people
happy?
Yeah, by all means. If you did everything possible and changed the blade as many times as it takes to be sure, then it must be the blade. It's a mystery as to why that blade worked so well in the table saw, or am I reading it wrong?
Freud Diablo ain't that cheap. I think it's a good blade. Cheaper than Forrest though.
Keep trying. A saw is only as good as the blade you put on it.
bought 3 forrest blades. table saw is good
12" miter hasn't been mounted
10" miteria wobblier them i am
Jer, How many teeth on that blade?
-Lou
I believe there is 80 on the Forrest miter. This is a 12".
Is it a thin kerf? 80 teeth seem to drag . What do you think?
It's not a thin kerf which is good. I don't like the thin kerf on anything larger than 71/4" because it wanders. I cut rock maple moulding all day with it today. Like butter.
Thanks Jer, I just ordered it, Cant wait to get it on the saw.
-Lou
Before you get your shorts too knotted up, double-check that you had it mounted correctly. Wouldn't be the first time that the washer was slightly akilter or some such, resulting in wobble.
