I’m a housewife considering bamboo flooring in my dining room and kitchen. Does anybody have any experience with this flooring?

I have installed bamboo flooring. It is a nice tough floor. Be prepared for a modern look compared to an oak floor. I have only seen bamboo sold in equal length boards which results in a sort of a pattern look when installed. Also, the grain of bamboo looks nothing like wood.
I have it in my house.........Good stuff!
Everyone who comes over compliments it.
Would it be suitable for an area where water might spill occasionally? Kitchen and entry door.
I have them in my kitchen and entry areas with no problems......and my dog drinks like she has a hole in her chin!
In fact, I have them in the whole downstairs and am currently putting them throughout the entire upstairs. The downstairs 1/2 bath has Bamboo but the full baths have tile.

Hardwood laminate flooring is also a no-go. "They don't stand up to multiple sandings to change color or remove stains," says Nash.
Really?! Who would have imagined that you could sand a laminate floor multiple times. And just so you could change the color too.

We tiled the Kitchen and Bathrooms, but used bamboo everywhere else. Loved it. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
Animal, the fix for equal length boards is called a chop saw!:-)Those who can make you believe in absurdities can make you commit atrocities- Voltaire
On a serious note, if they're laid out right, there's no obvious pattern.
I've been putting it in resturaunts & it holds up great. Don't be afraid of it, It's going in my house.
I have a customer that wants bamboo and every piece is a 5-footer. There's no point in trying to make that look random, it will all have to be deliberate stair-stepped by cutting every other starter in half.
I had 3' pieces and cut each starter in multiples of 6" (6, 12, 18, 24, 30). A bit more work, but I could mix up the pattern enough that none is discernible. With 5', I'd use 12" increments.
If you cut EVERY starter to differing lengths you do not pick up on a pattern.
With every other you do notice a pattern.
Put it in a laundry room for a customer that had it in the rest of his house. Seemed to be a very tough surface. Not my cup of tea in appearance, though. They had it in the kitchen as well. I wouldn't be afraid of it at all. Nice that it is a renewable resourse in that it grows so fast.
